This movies looks pretty messed up. Hopefully it'll be as good as the trailer is making it seem.
Have a fun Halloween night. Be safe out there, and enjoy all your Halloween parties and Rocky Horror Picture Show viewings.

November around the Corner
Last night had to stay up late printing some of your orders. Glad to see a lot of you are returning and that a lot of you are spreading the word about us.
Dora and I have been spending the last 2 nights brainstorming. We came up with a bunch of awesome ideas that will add a whole new depth to what we've been doing so far. I'll be sure to let you get a first look.

The Nightmare Before Halloween
I like looking at snow in a movie, and outside my front window. But the thought that I have to drive in it tomorrow annoys the hell out of me. It seems as though when it snows, or rains, or if it's nice outside, people forget how to drive. So wish me luck on my adventure to get to my job in one piece tomorrow.

Tokyo Massacre Painting
We sold this painting locally. I think we're going to open the possibility for you as well to own your own Akumu Ink hand painted piece. We're just trying to figure out the best way to go about it.
Also we're researching the possibility of painting on shoes. I don't know if our style lends to it....I think it would be awesome to print on shoes, but that would mean printing before the shoe is sewn, and we don't have the capability to do that. So we're going to keep researching that.

Akumu in Forum Thread
Dora and I were doing a search on Akumu Ink to see how many hits we got. Anyways to make a long story short we found a forum where a bunch of people from around the world were posting about us! Totally surreal to read people's enthusiasm about our products. Well if you're interested in reading what people are saying or if you want to add your own comments and stuff and help get our name out here's the link to the forum : http://www.fecielo.com/akumu-ink.html
I believe it has something to do with this blog 1 Tshirts World that posted about us a long while back.

Sleeping Day (Painting Part 4)
Today was less productive. Watched an old movie "Bully" starring the late Brad Renfro and slept around for 4 hours. Printed orders that needed to go out as well as mailed some. We're totally on schedule with your orders :) Worked for about 2 hours today on the Of Horror painting, and I gotta say we placed it above the mantle and it looked really cool. Usually I paste past art works I've worked on up on my walls, but this is the first art piece I've actually ever made dedicated solely to decorating my apartment. And I've got to say it's looking pretty awesome. Dora did a wonderful job painting in all the smaller details that I don't have the patience to bother with. Here's the last work in progress photo. The next pic will be the final 'over the fireplace pic'.

Painting Day Part 3
Some Sushi, a few beers, and a couple movies ("Hell Boy", "When A Stranger Calls") later. We're still going strong and painting this thing. This is the latest image of the painting. Started a second coat on the left, and Dora is beginning work on the detail in that huge center gap. More to come later.
Oh, and next weekend's project is carving a pumpkin :)

Painting Day Part 2
Here's the second work in progress pic. At this point it's one third done. Dora and I have been taking turns painting at this point. All done on a black foamcore with Acrylic paint. Still needs a second coat but I think we'll keep that for the end. Watched a movie called Harold...meh, and 4 30Rock episodes, which are pretty entertaining.

Store Pics Tonight
I can't wait to leave work today. Dora and I stopped by Boutique Perfide yesterday to drop off some Of Horror I tshirts. They even took an order to carry some of our hoodies. And i took a photo of the boutique so you can see how awesome our stuff looks in their window display.
Also I'm really hoping tomorrow I'm going to do a little painting. The last time I printed shirts was Wednesday night and there seems to be a little lull now in terms of how much work there is to do so I've filled the gap of time with painting! I'm really hoping to put some horror movie on tv and just paint most of the day. I'm hoping to do 3 pieces. Of Horror I, Tokyo Massacre and Cut, Cut as huge 40inch wide close ups that we hang up in each room. I bought the boards and paint yesterday so it's going to be alot of fun. I painted once in college and that was a disaster, but I'm expecting this to be fun, relaxing and something different.
Anyways I'll post the progress during the day tomorrow so you can see how they look/ come out.

Fear[s] of the Dark
Oh cool! I saw this a while back and totally forgot about it. It's a French (from France) movie that IFC picked up. Such a simple concept and reminds me so much of how around Halooween time when we were kids YTV would play back to back episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark and Goosebumps. And there was always short animations of stories that began "...so this happened to a friend of a friend of mine.." Amazing! No wonder we're all messed up now :) If you know of anything similar to this tell me about it.

Goth Musicals
I stayed up late last night packing your packages and watching the first half of Sweeney Todd again. I really like that movie :) I'm obsessed with goth musicals. I watched Nightmare Before Christmas yesterday too, I still have Corpse Bride to watch again, probably next weekend while carving the pumpkin.
Speaking of goth musicals, have you seen the trailer for Repo! The Genetic Opera? It's by the guys who did SAW.

Perifde
Perfide is a boutique in Montreal. They have very limited space but completely use every inch of it. We received an email that they wanted to carry our gear, so yesterday after making a little stop in Chinatown for some groceries and bubble tea we went to the little diamond in the rough shop. First time stepping in you're almost overwhelmed by all the tshirts and artwork created by Montreal artists. But it's really worth taking a look. And also you can now find Akumu Ink's there! Possibly by Friday we'll also be dropping off some hoodies there, so go and check them out. We'll try and get some photos up here soon of Perfide's boutique.

Cannibal Spotlight
There's a site I've been frequenting for the last couple weeks and now has become bookmarked in my toolbar. It's ToysREvil, a site all about vinyl toys, paper toys, action figures, busts and other toys in general. And with the launch of our "Cannibal" paper toy I thought it fit to get in contact with ToysREvil blogger Andy and ask him to post about us. Well you can check out here what he had to say about us.

Press
If your blog reviewed us this month and I didn't mention you please let me know. Every now and then we come upon a site that talks about us but I don't write it down right away and then forget. So just tell me and I'll link it right up.
But here is someone who's mentioned us before and is still surprised by what we do which is always a good thing. Hide Your Arms has a nice review about us with lots of pictures. Be sure to leave lots of comments on his page and even wish him (Andy) a happy birthday if you can!

Also be sure to check out I AM THE TREND an awesome site that supports independent clothing brands, musicians and other artists. The site is just starting but with the right marketing it'll be huge. Go down there and check it out.

Website and Hoodies
I was reworking the website tonight and photoshopping the new hoodie photos. Let me just say it's going to be awesome! They will be zip up hoodies and not pull overs ;)
I would predict that within the next 2 days if everything goes right they should be up. I'm really going to try to get it for tomorrow but I can't promise. Don't forget that the first 50 hoodies come with a paper toy. After those 50 toys are gone, we won't reprint or resell them. You'll have something very unique that no one else will have.
I can't wait for you to see the new stuff, we're really proud of this next step.

Songs for Halloween
I made a mix CD when I was in highschool...unfortunately it would seem that I lost it in the move. But I would always put this CD on once a year around this time to get me into the Halloween spirit. The songs are not all Halloween themed but just was fun to listen to. Here are some of the songs I can remember from my CD and a couple new ones that I've acquired along the way:
Fantomas "Spider Baby" (not real video... but whatever)
Marilyn Manson "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell" (youtube wouldn't let me embed the real video, so for the actual video go here)
Nightmare Before Christmas "This is Halloween"
Avenged Sevenfold "A Little Piece of Heaven"
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes "Phantom of the Opera"
Sam The Sham and the Pharaohs "Lil' Red Riding Hood" (Only the first 42 seconds are good...then it gets happy)
Cradle of Filth "Born in a Burial Gown"
Let me know some of yours so I can add them to my collection.

Millertoons
I want to mention a friend of mine's website that just went up yesterday. He's a children's book illustrator and does beautiful work. He draws everything by hand and all his stuff is original. He even does custom work if you're willing to spend a little extra. He's got some really nice 18"x7" posters for sale at 25$. Check out his etsy page here: Millertoons

Tomorrow if the internet works in our apartment I'd like to post my favorite Halloween songs. So come back this weekend for that.
